Your business can always benefit from an increase in efficiency and productivity, and the means of getting such increase have never been so available. Having the right apps on your phone, tablet and even desktop computer can help your business grow by making you more organised, accessible and connected. But with so many apps out there, which ones are a must have? Below is a list of the apps that we believe could be of the greatest assistance to you.

What Apps to Use

Skype

In this day and age, communication difficulties should not be hindering your business growth. There are a range of apps out there that can help you overcome any geographical communication hurdles that may exist. Skype is an oldie but a goodie, and if you haven’t jumped on board don’t wait any longer. This piece of free, easy to use software can be used on nearly any device and allows you to communicate with clients and colleagues via video, voice or text.

Dropbox

File sizes too big to email? Busy colleagues and clients unable to send important files through when needed? Cloud based storage is a must have for any business, and Dropbox is one of the most user-friendly hosting service available. Not only does Dropbox allow you to share (with limited access if desired), all kind of files with your colleagues and clients, it can act as a simple back up storage solution for those all important documents.

PayPal Here

If your business can’t accept payment by credit or debit card there is no question that you’re losing business. While ‘Square’ is not currently available here in Australia, PayPal Here is an app for your iOS or android smart phone or tablet that allows you to take secured payments anywhere. While PayPal does take a fee for each transaction (2.4 – 2.9 per cent depending on the transaction method) plus 30 cents, there are no monthly fees, and such fee is largely insignificant when compared to the benefits this app will provide.

Evernote

Evernote is a must have app for all busy professionals out there. Not only does it let you create to-do lists, it lets you dictate or enter notes, store photos and set reminders amongst other things. So what sets Evernote apart from the other organizational apps on the market? It indexes your notes, has an ever so handy search tool, and makes your stored data accessible from any device.

Zendesk

If you’re going to give your business an online social media presence, you need to be there to respond to client or customer queries. If you don’t respond you run the risk of disgruntled clients spreading their horror story. Zendesk is a great cloud-based business app that allows you to support your valuable customers by bringing all conversations to one, easy to navigate place.
