Welcome to the June edition of The Quintessential Brief. You will notice that we have expanded our newsletter content this time around.

We understand that it is extremely important for business owners to be provided with a wide range of information in relation to all areas of their business. As a firm of accountants, lawyers and financial planners we are able to offer our clients professional advice on a range of issues. And whilst we do know a lot about a number of business facets, we recognise that we are not experts on absolutely everything. To that end, from this edition forward we have asked marketing consultancy, Clarity Marketing, and recruitment and placement advisor, Balance At Work, to contribute specialist articles in their various fields.

We hope that by providing you with holistic business advice and information you will be able to gather the tools to expand your business and realise your goals.

The recent release of the federal Budget has illustrated that the Government is seemingly being very proactive in its attempts to drag the country out of the recession that we are now well and truly in the throws of.

One of the major changes affecting employees and taxpayers across the country is the cap that has been introduced on superannuation contributions. This is discussed further in Accounting News on page 5.

Also in Accounting News this month, 30 June is fast approaching so we reiterate some important tasks that can help you prepare for your end of financial year obligations.

On page 3 in Legal News this quarter we look at how the recent passing of the Fair Work Act 2009 will impact Australian workers and workplaces and also look at the concept of capacity and how important it is to have measures in place should a loved one lose their capacity.

We hope that you find this new and improved edition of The Quintessential Brief beneficial. If there are any legal, tax or financial planning issues that you would like us to address in future editions, please 1300 QUINNS or click here to submit an online enquiry. You can also email us if you would like to receive the latest legal, accounting and financial news update each Monday morning via our Weekly Client Alert.

Well, another financial year is almost is almost at an end. While it has been a tough 12 months for most of us through positive working attitudes and reliable business guidance and advice, we can work together to get business and the economy back on its feet and move towards a bright and prosperous future.

Regards

Michael
